Manhattan Plants?

My girlfriend wants to add some greenery to her current apartment. Where is the best place to buy a few indoor plants? Our place has poor natural lighting.

There are a number of nurseries in the city but all are relatively expensive. I ended up ordering a 4' ficus benjamina from Flowers to Go because it was quite a bit cheaper than anything local. If you're looking for smaller plants, local nurseries may have more reasonable prices.

I don't know what the quality is like, but we have a few plants from home depot. If you buy a plant and a pot there, they'll repot it for you.

I'm sure your hood has a garden store.

What about a cactus?

Aloe or a snake plant.

I'm not in manhattan, but our apartment has poor light too, and everything my wife tried to grow ended up dead within a week or two. We went away for a week and an onion had sprouted (in a basket nowhere near a window). As an experiment, we put it near a window, have not watered it or anything, and it's still growing 2 weeks later. Utterly ridiculous.
