Next time you're in town, go to the Edison downtowon on Thursday nights. Upscale crowd, nice bar, good live music, retro environments.

Got back from the trip a week ago. Didn't really have the opportunity to visit as many restaurants as I'd hoped. Here's the rundown:

Lunch Thursday: Ritz Carleton Marina del Rey: Food, good; service, eh.
Dinner Thursday: Cicada Restaurant (downtown), excellent all the way around.
Breakfast Friday: Georgian Hotel (Santa Monica), very nice after a bike ride along the beach.
Dinner Friday: Blair's (Silver Lake): Very nice; Bistro style. Good food.
Drinks Friday: Edendale Grill (Silver Lake): Cool bar, converted firehouse. Saw the dude who played Danny the caddy in "Caddy Shack".
Lunch Saturday: Ritz Carleton Marina del Rey: very slow service
Dinner Saturday: Jer-Ne restaurant at the Ritz Carleton Marina del Rey: Excellent.
