I'm looking for an alternative to these:

I really want that lighter navy color, in a slim-fitting chino of course

They're (J Crew Urban Slim Fit, all colors) on sale for $49.50 now..

To give you an idea of how they fit, here are measurements (BIG style)
for a pair tagged 29x32:

Waist: 30"
Front Rise: 10.5"
Back Rise: 15"
Upper Thigh: 11.5"
Knee: 8"
Leg Opening: 7.4"
Inseam: 32"

I wish I could see some fit pics of the Urban Slims as well. I'd like to see how they fit day-to-day.

I might pick up a couple pair at $50, though.

I've seen the broken-in and lightweight classic-fit on sale a few times now, usually in less than desirable colors and sizes (I have one in khaki and one in espresso, but it's usually just white and red). I don't think the essential classic-fit gets to $20.

Yea they go on sale every so often, they must either sell quick or they don't have allot of sizes left in stock when I click on the sale items there usually gone. Also anyone else think the new design (hook & bar) doesn't look as good as the older style? Maybe I'm odd but I've always preferred the look of a button closure on my casual wear.

They don't look very slim. They don't have the 511 twills anymore, right? Also, fwiw, the J.Crew broken-in chinos that I ordered ended up being the wrong style, wrong color, wrong size, so if anyone wants to make an offer on brand new (never-worn, still in packaging) J.Crew classic-fit essential chinos in 33/32, message me.

I've read about half this thread... but haven't seen what I"m looking for so far. I need a pair of slim fitting pants for the summer, fairly low rise, 6.5" leg opening, maybe 6.75, does anybody even make this?

Reviving an older thread as my search has continued. I did pick up a pair of the Gap Original Khaki's today because they fit surprisingly slim on my frame in a size 29. The thigh measures about 11.25-11.5", knee approximately 8.25"-8.5", with an 8" leg opening. Not too narrow of a leg opening, but that's as big as I prefer nowadays on my chino's especially for casual workwear. Fit pics when I get some time.

I have the W+H chinos from SS09 and they come close to this, but not quite. The 30" waist model measures 7.0" at the leg opening and has a low rise. Not sure if smaller waist sizes have smaller leg openings, but I'd imagine so. The ones I have feel about 1/2 size larger than marked so sizing down may be an option on these if you have a really slim build.
