can anyone comment on the fit of patrik ervell button ups? i'm kind of lusting after those check linen shirts

for reference, i wear smalls in j.crew, steven alan, unis, hickey and medium-large in BoO

idk about the knits, but i tried on a 36/46 hand made jacket at opening ceremony a few weeks ago and it fit like a glove. Didn't buy it though. So I'd say true to size.

reviving this thread in light of SW sale....i ask again, can anyone comment on the sizing of patrik ervell button up shirts?

^^^I'd like to know too. BTW, Tres Bien (http://www.tresbienshop.net/en/grp/patrikervell.php) has measurements.

Not as true to size as say BoO. If you're a medium in BoO you can probably do a small in ervell. Their other tops/jackets are kind of short boxy with really slim pants. That's pretty much ervell's style

i think ervells cut is roomy in the chest, but then with a sharp taper on the sides

That's true. People should probably try them on. I'd love to pick one up but they rarely make sales in size smalls. If they make 60% on sw i'll bite, other wise i don't "need" a button up for $150 right now. Nice shirts though.

they're definitely an odd cut. i wear a small in BoO and a small in ervell button-ups, and the ervell ones are longer (obv) and definitely cut fuller in the chest, though CS is right about the extreme taper. definitely made to be tucked in, which fits his aesthetic.

^Doubt that as patrik himself wears them untucked.

Don't know about the shirts but the sizing of the jackets is all over the place. My jacket from his first season is a M and then I've tried stuff on from the same season and went from a M to an XL in certain styles.

can't speak to that but i'm 5'8 and the taper looks real awkward if i leave them untucked, but they're real streamlined if i tuck them in. maybe if i was taller...

I've owned multiple Ervell shirts including the linen ones from SS08. I would say they run true to size. I disagree with chrono saying that BoO is true to size... I sized up to a Large for my BoO shirts but in all other brands I wear a medium. Here are some measurements for the SS08 linen shirts in medium: Pit to Pit: 21" Arm length: 25.5" Length" 30.5" Shoulder to Shoulder was 18" I believe. Also I usually wear them untucked, I'm 6'2" for reference. If you have any other questions feel free to PM.
