Fuji apples are good but they don't seem to last long in my fridge at work.

I like the fuji, as far as the standard available apples on the east coast go. For awhile Whole Foods had an apple the called the Mountaineer Apple, it was smaller and flatter, kinda lumpy, looked and tasted earthy, really robust and savory. I very much enjoyed those. When Whole Foods no longer had them I could not find any "mountaineer" apple in my apple research. Unfortunate to have lost such a specimen.

Granny smith, sometimes with caramel dip.

Tasty treat: slice of apple on cracker with peanut butter. Salt, sweet, crunch, fat all in one bite.

^+1 on the gala. I also like the Ginger Gold - it's got some nice tartness to it.

Don't put them in the fridge - they last longer at room temperature (like many other fruits and veggies).

fuji and gala. whole foods usually has a good selection of both (ymmv). i keep them in the fridge because i like them ice cold and they usually last about 10 days or so. i also cut them the core; makes it a lot easier to eat at my desk at work.

Fuji, or Winesap if available. Something firm and crisp, I hate mushy and mealy apples.

Aomori Braeburns are underrated imo.
