Noted, but anything from Hober? I'm thinking with no new Cappelli orders processed until after September 10, I probably won't have that in time for an end of September wedding.

What about the shepherds check ties from Kent Wang?

For the poors out there who just need a bunch of wedding ties for their groomsmen, hit up TieBar! Ties aren't amazing but they're 15 bux.

Kent Wang has lovely ties, I've bought a few for presents, but he doesn't make them long enough for my liking.

I thought about having another Drake's tie made to my specs, but I've gotten to where I really prefer the heft of lined 6 folds like I get from Sam Hober.

Just picked up this one for €20 for tomorrow, don't want to spend more cause it's probably gonna get spilled with alcohol lol8[1].gif

At least it's not polyester...

I never really though of ties as "wedding" ties until coming to this forum and dressing for a wedding this past weekend, in an ode to SF groupthink I went with the black and white below

The hober for sure, the other one has some crazy shine.

I'm considering this Charcoal Gray/Silver Grenadine Fina from Hober and would like to know from the resident experts if they believe it qualifies as a classic wedding tie?

I don't want something that's too silvery and I haven't found a patterned one I really liked, so I thought this might work...

definitely

I'm making a suit for my friend who's getting married. He wants a medium or light grey. But would light grey be too similar in color to a wedding tie? I'm considering medium grey for that reason, and possibly having him wear my navy shepherd's check tie.

Shepherd's check navy

Or should I push him to get a charcoal or navy suit?

Medium grey + wedding tie is fine I think.
