Kent Wang has lovely ties, I've bought a few for presents, but he doesn't make them long enough for my liking.
If you like that first Hober, Drake's has a couple of similar glencheck ties on sale right now:
I thought about having another Drake's tie made to my specs, but I've gotten to where I really prefer the heft of lined 6 folds like I get from Sam Hober.
I never really though of ties as "wedding" ties until coming to this forum and dressing for a wedding this past weekend, in an ode to SF groupthink I went with the black and white below
Gray, Black, Blue
Please help me choose a wedding tie out of these two.

The hober for sure, the other one has some crazy shine.
I don't want something that's too silvery and I haven't found a patterned one I really liked, so I thought this might work...
I'm making a suit for my friend who's getting married. He wants a medium or light grey. But would light grey be too similar in color to a wedding tie? I'm considering medium grey for that reason, and possibly having him wear my navy shepherd's check tie.
Or should I push him to get a charcoal or navy suit?
