Axe body spray

Thread Starter
Do me and everyone else within a 50 meter radius a huge favor and throw that shit out, please. I can't believe how hard it was to breath in the gym today with one dude who was trying to cover up his week without a shower in a film of this crap.

Thank you, that is all.

For the sake of disclosure I admit that I use Axe as a deodorant (I used to use the Adidas stuff, but it seems to have been discontinued), but frankly nothing is a substitute for a shower. As well, it's only good as a deodorant...there is a good reason why cologne was invented.

You done now cupcake? JP.

Yea I agree, it might smell "OK" but its always WAY WAY too strong.

On the bright side, I'm almost positive that it could be used as a very effective mosquito repellent.

It's called Lynx here in Australia. And yes, I agree, throw that shit out! Oh my god.

I do have some in my gym bag though, just in case I'm particularly stinky, although I shower after the gym in the afternoon, and in the morning so I rarely need it. But seriously, all it takes is one quick 1/10th of a second depression of this crap under each arm for it to already be to strong.

I think little boys watch the commercial where the guy just sprays on tons of the crap and go "Oh! THAT'S how you use it!". I don't think it helps that in the ads all the girls crawl all over the guy who's just put it on. Note to all the kiddies listening in: This does not happen in real life. Get some Hugo Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren or something similar and apply sparingly. Those are the scents that make women fawn over you (I'm not even kidding).

Nah, you just need an Armani blazer and some True Religion jeans.

Maybe that's a notch too high... I'm thinking more Armani Exchange and some Diesels maybe...

Truly vile stuff though I think those who wear it might be even more repulsive beings.

I agree, LK. One of the things that I'm often amazed at is guys who are otherwise concerned with style (shoes, clothes, grooming) will otherwise not pay much attention at all to the fragrance they are wearing. To me, fragrance is as essential a part of your wardrobe as anything else and is NOT the place to be thrifty... and given that it is often the first thing a person notices as you walk into the room (whether they see you or not), I can't imagine why anybody would want AXE, TAG, KC, or Aqua di Gio to be their introduction.

Axe is only good at a flame thrower. Seriously! Put a lighter in front and spray, you'll get a good 10 foot fireball out of it.

at some bar in brooklyn I met the guy (there w/ his team) who was in charge of the advertising or marketing campaign for axe, and he was a giant hipster DB

It's targetted at 13 year olds who think they'll start getting chicks if they use it.

Interesting that he's a hipster. One would have thought American Jackass.

I think that using Axe in this way was how John Goodman saved the day in that movie "Arachnophobia."
