Thanks! I just started to really like John Lobb shoes and belts after seeing them on the forum (never heard of it before), but of course they don't sell them in vancouver as far as I can tell and they are even more expensive then the brands I currently wear lol. 1,550.00 YIKES!

Of course I used to think the Prada Oxfords I wore everyday were pretty nice not knowing that the rubber soles were kind of a no-no DOH! (at least they go well with jeans).

As far as I can tell, the nice shoes I see on this forum cannot be worn with jeans/linen pants correct? Mostly suits and slacks. So what type of shoes should I be looking for exactly?

Thanks!

As far as shoes with jeans rule...I think that totally depends on the shoe and the person wearing it. I've worn my dress shoes with jeans for a while now. I just wore these yesterday with jeans, and I got a lot of compliments. Granted, most will say that these shoes are relatively casual looking, but I have worn them with lighter colored suits and slacks and they look good IMO.

Though they are a little darker and not as shiny than what the pictures show...

thanks guys!

What kind of shoes are those Raiderbuck? Are they considered more casual becuase of the square toe?

The shoes are Magnanni's. Personally, I think they are more of a pointed toe than square. I hate that square toe look.

I've personally always liked brown ankle boots paired up with denim, the colours can really blend well. There was a good thread showing lots of different boot styles a week or so back, here's a link: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=18409

Chelsea or Chukka boots are always a good choice for smart-casual in my opinion. As for shoes, monk straps are an interesting option.

Truth. And very hard to explain to those downtown/in the city.
