Considered the epitome of iGent footwear. They were traditionally worn with both daytime and evening (in patent leather) formalwear by men, and dandies liked to wear them with more casual attire as well. The contrasting uppers, although usually reasonably subdued, could well be made up in interesting patterns and colours.

Sure, I'll admit I don't own 15 oxxford suits, but the few suits, shirts and pants I do own actually fit me. I also know how to tie my ties. Maybe I came off harsh but Jesus what do you expect someone to say to those outfits? I am just being honest. He made a thread looking for input and I gave it; far less hostile than some other members. And I was just being honest in my thoughts about his justification of dressing like that.

But you have to look at it in a different perspective... you've grown to know him through the forum and are sympathetic/friendly towards him while I don't know him and judge him strictly by what he has posted in photos ( I didn't read every post or watch his videos).

And I would like to clear up that I don't have any problem shopping thrift; I have a problem going to a thrift shop and just picking up every suit in sight! There are some great little gems in second-hand stores.

I propose that members with less than 500 posts no longer be permitted to post in this thread. Do I hear a second?

...But all I've done is talk about button boots. Should I be banned too?

Just for that reason, if no other.

Also people with more than 5000 posts since they tend to be deranged.

I cant say I like those. I do like the shape of the toe box, and would wear them in shoe form with a plainer outfit.

Maybe it's the colour combination. Do you like these or these?

Black ones are ok, but nothing I would pick out. Brown ones I like the coloring and the toe box, but they still remind me of something one would wear on a pirate ship, or from George Washington's personal collection.

Those aren't mine by the way. I am only an aspiring button boot wearer at this stage. I will buy a pair as soon as I can afford them.

mt_spiffy, think about it this way - compare the button boots to the pony shoes. Which are more pleasing to the eye?

Also seconded. Can't trust those crazy deranged mega-posters.

I can't agree to your friendly amendment as it would render the thread too boring if we eliminated all derangement.

I take your point however and would consider certain eggregious derangement-based banning on a case-by-case basis.
