DISCLAIMER: I work in the music industry, so my style, perception, and budget are probably drastically different than the majority here!

The topper to this is the idea that the 'music industry' has found a home in, uh, Madison, Wisconsin.

Do a little more research . . . I live in WI but most of my work is in Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis, Iowa, DC, and LA. I travel every week.

The ties are a windsor knot tied with a few extra loops. Sometimes I will even layer two ties and tie them together. They are supposed to be that short, it's a style.

I have a tailor, he's from Italy. He ridicules me for the clothes I bring him, but neverless alters to my liking.

And I get a line (shave) and a haircut once a week, usually on Thursdays.

a few extra loops? No kidding. You use two ties? Is it to bring extra color or to thicken your tie knots? Do you use the same thick knots when not wearing a jacket? I bet your ties end just above your....nipples.

I think that your 'tailor' (does he actually tailor anything for you?) has taken the saying "the customer is always right" a bit too serious, it only applies when it's not hazardous for the client, its surroundings or children [at any age].

Two ties? Jesus. At least try to wear something that fits, you might like it. I'm sure you will.

Both. And I rarely wear ties without a jacket or a sweater. And I rarely open the jacket. On such rare occasions, I'll likely use a regular windsor or half windsor

I have a few pieces that were actually worth it that have been tailored to fit me quite well.

As far as tie knots go, I'd say the opposite.
