Thanks, I was thinking a steakhouse might be best for that sort of occasion but Picasso is hard to pass up.

I just don't see Picasso being conducive to the usual bachelor party vibe.

+1, but it depends on the crowd. If I were to have a bachelor party, it would probably be perfect.

Valid points, I don't think I've ever seen these guys in the context of a michelin star restaurant. I don't doubt that it could work but the steakhouse does seem to be the safer choice.

Since this thread has been a little inactive, I thought I'd follow up on the Vegas recommendation. We went with Carnevino and while the service was a bit poor, the choice of whipped lard or butter for your bread was an interesting one.

I have a reservation at e by jose andres for my next vegas trip. Anybody have experiences they can share... what to expect, etc.?

When are you going? I'll be there Sep 10-12. Mostly work stuff unfortunately so dining isn't going to be a highlight...

Do you still want info or did you already go? What can I say? The girl who you talked to or emailed with is super cool. She handles everything. You walk in and they seat you are the bar and give you an iPad to choose a drink. You can get a drink at the bar and choose what you want for the meal. They lead you to a back "secret" room and wait for the other guests. The theme of the room is really cool and creative, I won't ruin it for you. It's not very large, maybe 12x12 with a "kitchen" in front of you where 2-4 chefs prep your dishes. There are also 3-4 wait staff standing behind you and in the corners for water refills, helping clear plates etc. It's a great vibe with different staff talking about different things, including the woman I mentioned at the beginning. She is not a chef but she'll be presenting some dishes.

More?

Edit: I feel like an idiot. I saw your follow up post and now this response is a month late.

Great meal at Graham Elliot (Chicago) tonight. The ? tasting menu - 16 courses with wine pairings. Lots of good food and fun.

I'll go out on a limb and predict a visit from bibendum in the fall.
Prophetic.

Any recommendations for the Houston area? Preferably inside the loop.

For you Houstonians, what do you think about the places on the following list. I have been to a few but I wasn't impressed.

Thanks.
