Edward Green shoes

The website really has few examples, and the quality of the pictures are really poor. Is there a place I can see several examples online? Otherwise I might have to go to L'Uomo's and get fitted right away, but I'd like to have a look first.

Go to google - click on language tools - select Japan - search for "edward green shoes".

Why do Janpanese love EG shoes?  or other high-end shoes for that matter?

I don't know that the Japanese love high-end shoes more than others. They're just more likely to put together fan sites for them.

i think it is just that the japanese are more tech-forward than most.... and thus would be more likely to set up a web page for whatever their interest at the moment might be....

The Japanese are hyper brand conscious. I gathered this when I took Prof. Tom Looser's class about Japanese history, and how during the Meiji period to the current one, the people of Japan have been facinated with the west and starting in about the 70s, western brands became highly sought after and ultimately a reflection of one's identity. That's why there are more Louis Vuitton boutiques in Japan than anywhere else in the world. If you buy LV or EG, you are stratified in a very desireable group of people.

Yes, we are. But why do you gaijin love my show (Ryori No Tetsujin) so much?

Perhaps we "gaijin" enjoy it (I certainly do) but only in Japan could such a show even be conceived of. koji

Enlightenment, please. What's "OCD"? Where may a non-Japanese view "Ryori No Tetsujin", and what does that title translate to?

OCD only exists if the person has regrets. Eg, OCD for shoe collectors is when they regret spending all their time looking at shoes. There is a difference b/w obsessions and regretful obsessions.

"Iron Chef". I think the Food Network still shows re-runs (the show stopped airing in 2000, if memory serves me correct). koji

Thanks, koji. I've seen the show two or three times and found it mildly entertaining. I've assumed that few Japanese take the show seriously -- certainly would be a graphic display of cultural differences if many do.
