What do you guys think about some of the shoes on Yoox priced under $125. Brands such as Maldini, Thompson, HLS, Ciro Lendi, and Cafe'Noir.

Also, how do you go about picking your size if you are a half size? I wear a 10.5 and there is only 10 or 11...pretty tough to decide. What are your experiences?

I am interested in picking up a pair.

I can only speak to Ciro Lendini. I've bought two pair of this brand and am very pleasantly surprised. I bought suede brogues which I believe are still on there, and some brown plain-toes. Quality is obviously not top of the line but very respectable, leather is not corrected grain, they are comfortable and true to size. For the price I paid, around $50/pair, I'm very pleased.

There may or may not be a half size...note that their US sizes are a translation of the euro size...if one of the US sizes corresponds to your euro size, you may be in luck. For ex, I am an 8.5 in many US shoes but a 41 in most euro-sized shoes, depending on maker, last, etc. Yoox may translate the 41 as an 8, so I check that size as well.

Or your size may just be out of stock.

Do the sale items keep getting discounted? If so how does that work? Every day? Every few days?

Unfortunately I think these prices will be the final ones. They haven't changed since the sale was first announced earlier this month. The sale ends April 15 when they begin to stock new items for Fall/Winter 2008. The yoox2008 code (10%) still worked as of today but the amici code (15%) seems to have expired as of last night.

I see. I was hoping for a fire sale I guess not. Maybe I'll place a big order tonight and return all the things that don't fit since you all say returns are really easy.

It's possible that they may do one more round of discounting, although I haven't seen this in the past. The economy isn't what it was however... May be stagger your buying? Get the pieces you like the most now (always a risk someone else might snatch them up otherwise) and leave the second tier pieces a bit longer to see if the prices come down a bit more?

im banking on hopefully one more price cut because a lot of items werent reduced during the "final sale"...I think it's likely that the already reduced items probably wont be reduced again though...

i sent them an inquiry about it and was replied with "we cannot confirm or deny"...Of course, it would be silly for them to confirm it in the first place as people would try to wait it out.

Interesting... what would be the point in not explicitly telling you there would not be any more cuts, though. If they told you outright there would be no more cuts, that would probably induce you to pull the trigger now as opposed to waiting it out, no?

Does anyone have any experience with the Nora brand shirts, which are going for ~$30/ea?
