Yoox....the Final Price Cuts - Page 8

This is the first time I've known about Yoox to hit up the final sale. I got a couple of staples that I'm very pleased with:

1. Adriano & Sons (Caruso) solid navy nailhead suit -- $250.

2. Marc Jacobs (mainline) 100% wool navy topcoat -- $215.

I feel about the same way, though I did manage to grab a few choice items...Hopefully they fit the way I want...

Did someone note that all the Yoox stuff is the from the club line? Any way to distinguish between club line and main line from the Yoox photo's?

Can't tell from the photo without seeing the label but I think the stated retail price is an indication the shirts are Club line. I have regretted buying a LB Club shirt and the fabrics on all the ones I have seen are very coarse and don't wear well. Their ties are of middling quality as well.

Yoox descriptions definitely suck. I bought what was listed AND pictured as a Nice Collective hoodie, and received a crew neck t-shirt. Hard to beet the prices though...

Yeah, the poor descriptions make buying a gamble.

I find it very strange that they identify pants by their suit size and not waist size. I picked up some Adriano & Sons pants in 36 US suit size, expecting a standard drop 6 and a 30" waist but ended up with a size 32. Had they fit though, I would have been thrilled.

I put them up for sale in this forum by the way. Here.

Why do you say that? Did you order a bunch of pants thinking the waist was going to be 30 or are you being sarcastic?

i ordered many pants and was about to order more. all i can say is BLARGH. what are ur trousers tagged??
My trousers are tagged 46 and they are a little bit over 32" in the waist. You can check the measurements in my for sale post.

thats incredibly deppressing.

I went ahead and got this in 40. It's been in my dream box since it cost over $900, and it sold out when it was still at $468. It came back into stock at $292 so I had to jump on in. Not a bad risk for something that retailed at over $2000.

I think this has been discussed before. The "problem" is that Yoox just reports the size on the tag, rather thangiving the actual measurements of the clothes. Italian manufacturers tend to report their trousers sizes in suit sizes, rather than the actual waist size in inches. I think the real issue is that many fashion houses don't standardize their sizing. Some designers even size differently between seasons! Yoox could do better by actually providing measurements, although this may not be feasible given their huge inventory. They are, however, accurate about what the labels say. The problem is that a IT46/US36 for Adriano & Sons may be equivalent to a IT48/US38 for Marni or a IT50/US40 for Comme des Garcons...
