FS: VERSACE- Black Wool Vest, Military-Style, Size: M (US)

Just listed on e-Bay... A VERSACE Vest, Vintage Circa 1995 maybe? Very Military looking with two rows of very nicely done Medusa buttons (Gold-tone medusa appears cut out of "braided" silver-tone ring). Fabric is black wool...the type of wool you'd expect to find in a classic style style "Pea"-Coat.

Rarely worn, the vest is in terrific condition (It's a US Size Medium, and was fitted back when I bought it at the Versace store in Tysons Corner, VA...I'm definitely a size large these days. Maybe even an Ex-Large in this vest!

I do understand... In the SF it's almost a mandate for one to feel guilty if they should happen to admire anything from one of "the" designers...

Normally I wouldn't post my Versace stuff here (and Lord knows, I have plenty of it). I know that most of it wouldn't be all that well received in the SF.

But this vest seemed different somehow.
Although it's got an edge...the overall military feel, kinda keeps it "in line"...

Actually, there are a few members in the S&D forum that have other vintage Versace pieces that I know of (that also look good). If I were to wear that, it would be layered under a jacket with denim.

Not to sound like the "Village Idiot"...

...but what's the "S & D Forum?"


I own a ton of everything... including a very sizeable collection of Versace, which I've been buying for close to 20 years (pretty much before most people had every even heard of Gianni Versace). When I "discovered" Versace I was already dressing the way he designed...

Just to give an idea....
Here's an item that I may list this week...but not here. I have many like this.
I would have worn this in a heartbeat...........about 15 years ago.


I kinda like the way I shot this, with the daylight shining through the shirt:

Ah hah...
Now the Versace fans are coming out of the closet....as it were (nothing implied).

BTW- I should qualify. When I commented that I'd wear a shirt like that 15 yrs ago... I was only making a reference to my age (Incredibly, to me, I'm now into my fifties). If I was a bit younger, and still "partying"...my wilder Versace stuff would be a no brainer.
