Embarassed about style knowledge - Page 3

Clothing-related knowledge almost never comes up in conversations I have with my friends or family. But I don't feel embarassed when it does come up and I'm able to contribute. I don't bring it up myself, unless it's with my fiancee, since we talk about anything and everything.

I know what an A-Line dress is and can initiate an in-depth discussion on haute couture and dolman sleeves.

I usually don't talk about it because i'm lazy. I give opinions on stuff when asked and girls usually get a bit suprised when my thoughts on it are a bit more developed and detailed but they like it/think it's funny. I remember being kinda drunk at this girl's birthday party talking to some fashion design students about favorite designers. This girl saved face with me when she rolled her eyes at this other girl who jumped in saying that she loves dsquared. Fuck, when i get drunk and someone brings it up, i talk about fashion/designers/aesthetics and shit like that. Some girl ended up giving me her number because i knew about cloak, raf and stuff like that when her friends were giving her blank stares. Although, from overhearing drunk convos i have with girls, i'm pretty sure there are a bunch of guys i know who are convinced i'm gay, not that i really care. If i get jokingly asked by some douche about being gay because i say something about fashion, i just go along with it as i could care less about him anyways. The last thing i'd want to do is start trying to flex fashion muscles that i don't have and berate someone who doesn't care as that couldn't be a worse idea. Not everyone has to be interested in it.

Don't be embarrassed about having knowledge. Don't let other people, especially your friends, make you feel sorry for knowing something.

Just give them that " so what if I know it's an a-line dress. If you have a problem with it I'll punch you in the face." look.
