I take green tea powder and mix it into vanilla ice cream. So good.

I remember one time on a plane back home they served green tea flavoured ice cream; quite possibly the most awesome things that I have ever had!

I shall have to try this!

Incidentally, while we're on the topic of unusual ice creams, saffron ice cream is absolutely freaking delicious.

Where do you get green tea powder?

Saffron ice cream? Where do you get that?

If you do it, make sure you use good vanilla ice cream. Like Haggen Daas or something.

Try a search for matcha (green tea powder). I bought some high quality stuff when I was in Korea but I'm sure it's available online or in an asian market.

Thanks. You know you like tea when.... looking at mounds of chlorophyll-colored poweder makes you salivate.

I've been advised to drink less than 3 cups of green tea a week by a nutritionist buddy of mine, but I'm figuring that's extreme. I especially like green tea with roasted rice, but I mix it up with loose white or green Jasmine as my mood takes me, brewing and drinking each with new clients when I'm taking their case.

Is there a reason for the less than 3 cups a week? I would say I average a cup a day and I've read certain articles that say there is no such thing as "overdosing" on green tea so I'm curious.

Also, in response to an earlier post, you can get green tea powder at Whole Foods market.

I buy loose leaf moroccan mint green tea from a local tea shop. It's great. The mint makes it much more enjoyable to just drink without adding anything. I probably drink close to a litre of the stuff a day.

I personally love white tea. It tastes less "planty" than green tea. Anyone ever try Yerba Mate? It's a South American herbal drink and has more of a stimulant effect than regular tea. Good stuff.

Mate is good stuff. I'm not really concerened with the stimulant effect - I just think it tastes good.

Yeah it's not as pronounced as coffee, but stronger than regular tea and tastes great. I made it in my coffee maker once... stained the darn thing green for weeks!

Trader Joe's sells a good sized jar of Matcha powder for under $5.

I love Genmai-cha (green rice tea). I have a Lupicia (Japanese tea store) near where I live that sells a grapefruit green tea that's nice. Helps curb sugar cravings.
