Green tea

I'm curious if there are any other posters out there addicted to green tea as I am. I have completely removed coffee from my diet and drink about 2 to 3 cups of green tea a day. It gives me a lot of energy and doesn't have nearly the amount of caffeine that coffee does. Any other green tea fans out there?

I go through phases where I drink it a lot. I love the taste and I don't drink coffee anyway, so it is a good morning and afternoon treat. It's great with Splenda if you are avoiding sugar. On days where I down an energy drink prior to or during my workout, I tend to avoid green tea because I'm already wired for the rest of the day and I'd rather not add more caffeine into the mix.

I'm been drinking a lot of loose green tea from Adagio Teas. I'm currently drinking the Apricot Green thats good enough it doesn't need any sugar.

I've got a cup in my hands right now. Sometimes I do not drink any at all, but on the days when I'm writing a lot, I may drink 3-4 pots!

Green tea is something that you ease into, but I'm definitely addicted now. I bought this one organic mint green tea on sale and I have to admit that it is several times better than normal tea, especially considering that it's the same price as the other teas at the grocery store.

I used to drink about 10-12 cups of black coffee every day. It was almost purely out of habit. The coffee in our office is just terrible, barely palatable, but it was a hot liquid and a way to clear my thoughts every now and then. It was convenient and quick just to drink it black, and I also wore it sort of as a badge of honor: I was the tough guy drinking his coffee black no matter how bad it tasted.

It was killing my body... absolutely destroying my already bad GI system... but I didn't even stop to think about it. I just kept drinking it because it was fast, easy, and habitual.

I'd occasionally try to break the habit by drinking black teas or spiced chai, but I have always taken my tea with cream and sugar. The added calories weren't great, they sat heavy in my stomach so I couldn't drink as much. And the whole process of needing to add in the cream and sugar (or honey) and then stir, silly as it sounds, just took too darned long. I'd be back to my black coffee before long.

One day, I don't know why, I decided maybe I'd try bringing some green tea into the office. I have never looked back. I usually drink Numi Jasmine Green, because it's the best tea readily available in my supermarket. But I've just returned from China and I stocked up on some whole leaf tea. I've directly replaced my 12 cups of coffee with an equal amount of green tea, which is just as fast, and infinitely better for me.

I have spring in my step, I feel healthier, my stomach issues are 1/2 of what they were before, and I've even noticed a steep decline in the severity of my year-round allergies. Green tea, oh miracle cure, how I love thee.

It's even brought me to genuinely enjoy and appreciate coffee. On the weekends, or after a nice dinner, I now savor my coffee, instead of just gulping it down compulsively. I now add a dollop of heavy cream and a bit of sugar, and it's delightful.

I drink a cup of black tea every morning but on days that I'm dragging I'll have a cup of green tea in the afternoon since it gives me a little pick-up but won' t effect my sleep. Here is another good thread on tea

Tried green and white, but nothing beats a good Ti Kwan Yin or Tung Ting oolong IMO.

I'm in love with most kinds of teas. I keep various kinds in my kitchen so I can drink it with decreasing caffeine throughout the day.

I like green tea, but I'm more of an oolong fan. You have to be careful with greens not to steep them for too long or in water that is too hot otherwise you'll end up with something foul-tasting.

Although green tea is relatively low on caffeine, it has other stimulants that have similar effects.

I was advised against drinking green tea by a specialist tea shop because I was having problems sleeping. I'm now drinking oolongs instead.
