The first one posted, which was more than $100K at the site linked. This one is a mere $48K.

Well, lucky me, because I still like the $48K one more.

no doubt they have a strong following and looking at their movements i can understand.

the problem, for me ,is how the dial looks and there isn't a single one besides the simple 1815 in wg with blued hands that i like; everything else is too asymetrical and busy.

Well, if you can afford one, you can certainly afford the other. BTW, I agree with your choice, I think I would rather have the perpetual, if only for the more everyday functionality.

I can see what you mean. My Saxonia's design (for an ALS) is very simple and symmetrical to my eye...maybe a generation II Saxonia without date, like the one below, is somewhat the same and represents the most austere current Lange:

But, when I want to wear something really subdued, I reach for my vintage JLC, which I had the fortune of acquiring unused:

Generally, though, a lot of Lange dials are like cuckoo clocks.

No, it from around 45 years ago. It is nearly as thin as an ultra-thin, however, and reflects a period where well made, thin mechanical watches were common.

This JLC was never worn until I acquired it...tags and stickers all intact. I did swap out the original acrylic crystal for a saphire replacement so that the original crystal would remain unscratched, since it is a daily wearer, and the calf strap for a new Audemars Piguet strap that fits perfectly.

It tells remarkably reliable and accurate time.

My favourite watch by quite some margin. Platinum with Black dial L1. Not too common anymore since Lange stopped making them.

(not my photo - mine is on standard black strap)
