RE: Ebay Chestnuts - A bit much for Fairfax - I've heard they can be had @ 60 - 130USD.

If you 'have heard' you can get them for $60USD, why don't you ask that same person where you can get them?

Several posters said that they had seen / purchased Fairfaxes from DSW several months ago. Shopping around many of the DSW stores in my area yielded no results

I bought a pair of fairfax (size 12, sorry, though I wouldn't mind selling them) at DSW, though probably 8+ months ago.. I think their turnover is quicker than to think they'd still have them amazon/endless.com occasionally have pretty impressive deals on AE, though the more common sizes go VERY quickly
