OK, what I want to know is, why haven't any of the libs brought up the famous Reagan Administration "ketchup is a vegetable" EO?

Can you dip your french fries in bacon? I guess you could, and it probably would be delicious, but the logistics seem complicated.

Two words: food processor.

Then again, i'm very anti-ketchup on anything so i'm probably not the one to ask. That said, bacon might be the most glorious food. I believe there was an entire thread devoted to it awhile back.

Ketchup is disgusting on anything except a burger or hotdog.

**** that, ketchup is amazing. In fact, most things with which ketchup is eaten, especially french fries, are merely vehicles for transporting ketchup much like cigarettes are merely vehicles for nicotine. I call french fries "ketchup spoons."

Here comes the science:

http://www.gladwell.com/2004/2004_09_06_a_ketchup.html

I'm not saying bacon is bad - hey, I went to McHales on 46th street for Valentine's Day when the place was still there and ordered the bacon plate to start - but ketchup rings all the bells. Except the beer bell, but the OP seems to have got that one covered.

Dcg deserves a prize, or the rest of us should be punished severely. This thread has reached well into page two when it had no real reason to live beyond post two.

EDIT: It's particularly confounding that the poll reveals vibrant disagreement on the matter. Jeezus, maybe we actually need to talk this one out.

Bacon is not a condiment, but I agree with everything else coming forth from the OP. It goes with an amazing number of foods (though not all), and it is a magical food. I made some for a mid-afternoon snack just today. I wish I was eating some right now.
