Please settle a bacon argument

This has been an ongoing argument for a few years. I say bacon is the universal condiment - there is nothing you can put ketchup on that you cannot also put bacon on, and there are several things that you can put bacon/bacon bits on that you cannot put ketchup on, or at the very least that are much better with bacon than ketcup (steak springs to mind - apparently some dirty hippies out there put ketchup on their steak. Don't even get me started on that shit.) Of course, there are also bacon sandwiches.

My friend argues that since bacon can be eaten by itself, it's not a condiment. This is a bullshit argument because in my mind, it's just another benefit of bacon - I mean you can eat ketchup by itself if you want to, it just sucks.

Once in college there was no real bacon so I had a cream cheese and bacon bit sandwich.

The poll needs another option: WTF Are You Talking About?

Scallops wrapped in ketchup?

Then again, i'm very anti-ketchup on anything so i'm probably not the one to ask. That said, bacon might be the most glorious food. I believe there was an entire thread devoted to it awhile back.

WTF are you talking about? Bacon's the bomb. The OP and I both know it. Why don't you?

That is not in dispute. What the poll is trying to ask is, however. At least, I do not get it.

I think the OP is saying:

"Bacon is good whenever ketchup is involved, and it's definitely better by itself than ketchup by itself (which should be no penalty to bacon's viability as a condiment). I eat lots of bacon."

See, I think you need to go to law school to be able to parse that. I was a PhD. student, and I read the OP and thought, "WTF?"

That pretty much covers it. Don't overthink it, fellas.

Edit - it is not inconceivable that I am slightly inebriated, but the poll seems pretty clear to me.

It is not inconceivable that I am just dense.

Political science, I assume? Actually, I could probably use your help. I'm writing a paper for Martha Nussbaum and I have no idea how to formulate her arguments in Upheavals of Thought. It has something to do with feelings and how they matter, apparently.

I can't help you, dude. She hates my tribe like most people hate the plague.

Oh, and she is full of S. My advice: learn her particular brand of S, and just serve it to her on a plate. Get an A. Problem solved.

Unfortunately, she knows I'm a Federalist Society member. I'm screwed already.
