Here's another of my "out-of-the-ordinary" vintage shirts...
I've just listed it on ebay.

The description and more photos can be seen in the listing:

While you're there please check my other listings.

Thanks for looking.

while I'm not sure I have the stones to try to rock this shirt, I think the pattern and depth of the fabric is fantastic.. I know you have a huge number of these.. let's see some more

Great shirt, but you could take more efficient pictures. 8 pictures which show basically the same thing are just a waste of your money (ebay will charge you for each of them). One clear pic of the front, one of the back, tags, and perhaps a few detail shots (one or two is plenty) would be best, at least from my point of view as a potential customer. The ones you have are all almost the same shot, just some closer to each other than others. In any case, I love TF's mid to late 1990's Gucci stuff... it's really a lot of fun, though difficult to wear with any frequency. He probably also put out a matching necktie as he was really into his "tone on tone" style then.

At $.15 per pic I'm not exactly losing sleep over the cost. While the photos are similar, I felt that there were some subtle differences worth showing. For example, I posted two, almost identical, tight shots of the collar. But I felt that one of the pics did a better job showing the etched Gucci logo on the buttons, while the other did a slightly better job of showing the collar details. I couldn't decide between the two...so I simply posted both.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to capture decent, "full body" photos of my shirts. Hanging them up in the hallway has been OK....but still not very good (IMHO...the lighting always sucks). I'll keep experimenting.... Until that's resolved, the pics I'm getting by using my relatively small, homemade light tent are pretty much getting the job done (That's another key reason why so many of the photos were similar...I was shooting everything within the confines of the light tent).

All things considered...I've only been selling on eBay for a relatively short period of time, but so far my "sell through" rate is quite respectable (I think). So I guess I must be doing something right.

Having said that...

Trying to get a handle on what will sell and what doesn't sell, is still very much a mystery to me (I was more than a little surprised today when the S/S, yellow, Etro shirt with the epaulettes didn't sell...14 people watching and nobody willing to pull the trigger at $59?!? That had me scratching my head). But the journey is interesting.... Besides, with whatever money I've been making on eBay, I'm now able to turn around and buy more new, fun goodies...without neccesarily having to always run it by the wife. After all these years she still shoots me a "look" when she sees me bringing home as many as 3, 4, 5 shirts a week... or 2-3 pairs of boots/month (I can't imagine why that should bother her).

Thanks! When it comes to my wardrobe... "Fun" has always been the operative word!

I do like that shirt. I like Gucci's silk patterned shirts, but they're somewhat hard to come by.

I took a couple more photos... This time the shirt is hanging and I used natural light (just inside the sliding glass doors, shot from out on our deck). I was a little reluctant to post these new photos, because of the way the light and shadows make the fabric appear a little different than it does in real life. It doesn't really "read" as that shiny... The actual appearance of the fabric is better shown in the earlier pics.

And oddly enough, the previous pics that I shot using the light tent are also the most accurate in terms of color and contrast... These two new pics do an almost too good of a job showing the depth of the woven, jacquard silk. Those unusual, sorta surreal, dark areas that you see on the shirt are simply shadows that were created by the light playing with the deeply woven pattern in the silk. The optics of the camera had a field day with them.

Anyway...here they are:
