I hear ya, but based on what you've just described, I'm not sure the thing even exists in Cuba. The Cuban shop I frequented in Atlanta has some of the best foods I've ever had, but even then their Cuban wouldn't belong in my top 5.
On a related note, a good sandwich should be widely available, tasty, and cheap. If the cuban is such a perfect sandwich, it should be available pretty much where there are spanish speakers--but, alas, it isn't.
