I looked into getting a turtle because I thought they stayed that small. Apparenlty they dont, so I dropped the thought.

It'll grow to accomodate it's aquarium/terrarium.

If you get an enormous one, it'll grow quite large. If you get a relative medium sized one, your turtle won't get very huge. IME, they adapt to their relative surroundings.

So in his little Tupperware/turtle tank, Coho is probably pretty safe with keeping it that size lol.

I heard the same thing about turtle's ability to adapt it's spacial surroundings. I don't think mine will grow very fast in that tiny tub.

Red eared terrapins can get largish (relatively) but they can be quite the aggressive little SOBs. One we had when I was young chomped on a cat's nose that tried drinking from his water bowl. Cat flew upwards at very high velocity

He was very entertaining though; voracious appetite. You always had to be careful scratching his head or chin, he could move his head at surprising speed. And would not let go if he grabbed a finger.

Strong jaws too. I used to feed my Red eared those little pellets, and I'd actually lift him out of the water with his jaws locked onto the pellet/my fingertip. Craziness!

Awesome. Coho, aren't you concerned about the abrasives in the scotchbrite pad? And that antibacterial coating or whatever it is they have on there?

I got one of thse when I was younger at that size. It's about 6 inches in diameter now. It goes batshit when it sees you reaching for the food container.
