First, please read.

Because in another thread, some people brought it up as hindrance to style development, this is checking if people who dress elaborately (many of you Streetwear regulars) are very unlikely to have color blindness. Now, please be polled

Guilty as charged. I'm comfortable buying individual pieces, but sometimes have problems putting them all together. When I do, I consult a friend of mine.

You wouldn't have to worry about that if you were a goth ninja!

Thanks for the good sample size. That's surprising, a higher percentage than in the general population. Maybe people are coming to websites like this as a compensation and prefer to not mention their difficulty telling colors apart.

To anyone who is willing to confess color blindness, before looking at the wiki page (if you did), did you know that there are prescription lenses to improve color vision? Has anyone tried them? How helpful are they with clothing colors?

I voted in this poll, and yeah, I'm very red-green colorblind. Try not to put too much stock into a poll like this though because you'll tend to get a disproportionate amount of colorblind people to click on a thread like this (i.e. selection bias).

As an aside, I tried the prescription lenses once. My mom brought me a pair and I took a look at some of the color dot tests -- didn't really help.

"Selection bias" - good term to remember. On the other hand, the prediction was that very few Streetwear regulars have color blindness, so there's probably something more than selection bias to the results.

There are various kinds of lenses. Maybe some help more than others. Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience.

What word was in the reverse color blind test, ddml? I can almost make out "30" but even when I greyscaled it in photoshop, I still can't see it.

I am not, I was tested for it before I was hired at a quality assurance company.

Then I took a reverse color blind test and also passed (only the color blind should be able to read the word in the color plate); therefore I AM color blind?

Unless you have a calibrated monitor, it's not very reliable taking the tests online since the color balance in monitors differ.

I think I'm CB, and according to the wiki graph I'm deuteranopic. Sometimes I have trouble telling certain colors apart like black and dark blues, or certain shades like greens and grays. But I don't let that bother me and if I'm having trouble in a store, I ask a good looking woman if should could help me deciding about a color.
