Clothes for guy who is in mid 20s

Hey everyone, very new here. There are so many threads it's intimidating. I need to buy some clothes (specifically casual button down shirts) to wear with jeans and I'd like some tips/advice.

I am 5'9" 180. What brands out there have shirts that don't go past my butt when I wear them untucked?

Thanks.

What do you think I should be searching for? My search for "untucked shirts" led to 2 threads which didn't help.

Try buttonups, casual shirts.

Most here will recommend hickeystyle, Band of Outsiders, etc. You should search in the streetwear forum, as the question is more appropriate for streetwear.

C'mon, you're smarter than this. Step 1: Go to mall. Step 2: Go to any store there.

Try searching for "amjack" or "am-jack" In all truth, that should yield many threads on shirts to fit the bill for you.

Gap or Old Navy would probably fit your bill. Buy a size smaller than you normally would since it sounds like you don't want to button them either. I dunno maybe you do, but a smaller size will guarantee it being short in body length. You just have to watch the arm length unless you are rolling the sleeves.

There are plenty of shirts that can be worn untucked without looking the least bit amjack. OP is probably better off asking in the streetwear forum though.

I assume by 'button down' you mean a shirt that buttons down the front? 'Button down' around here refers to the collar style--not the shirt itself. I'm not trying to patronize you; I just thought you might like to know if you decide to stick around.

If you're concerned about length, why don't you just take your shirts into a tailor? Any reasonably competent alterations tailor should be able to shorten them.

That being said, you're having problems turning up information because this particular subforum is predominantly concerned with classic or tailored men's clothes. Everyone's tucking in there shirts here. If you want more sporty or fashion-oriented advice, the streatwear forum is for you.

Bit harsh for someone who came here for help.

I'm the same age as the OP. You can wear pretty much anything you want just be sure the clothes fit properly, which is the hardest part at first. Check the "what are you wearing" threads in streetwear. Look in GQ for ideas too. The tailor is your friend, though at 5'9" and 180lbs you probably won't have to worry about getting things slimmed.
