I would say no, but if I was back in college I'd would have tried it (after baking it again to make as crispy as possible).

I dont see a problem as long as it has not gone moldy?

bread crumbs are just ultra stale bread anyway

Maybe use it as a baseball bat?

Not where I come from. A few days old, yes. Nearly three weeks old, I don't think so.

Might work if the baguete has been stored in a refridgerator/freezer all along. A bit more likely if it is organic. Otherwise, hell no.

Next time get rye bread. At least the mold is more fun.

I had a 7 day old semifredi loaf yesterday, ran some water over it, preheated an oven to about 300 and tossed it in. In less than 10 minutes it was almost as soft as the day I bought it.

Why more likely if it's organic - my experience of organic is that it goes off far quicker.

Look at it for mold and smell it and it'll tell you far more than any of us can without the loaf in front of us! My guess is that it'll have dried out and be fine.

Have you checked for images of Christ or the Virgin Mary? It could fetch a fortune on Ebay.

It smells like nothing, and looks fine. So I made my crumbs. Thank you.
