Anyone knows about this company?

I know the speaker/stereo 4 feet away from me is made by it.

Expensive. Design trumps everything else.

They have their own dedicated shops? Huh. I guess the Apple analogy I was mulling over gains more credence

Yep - there's one here in Northern VA. I went in a few years ago for the first time, remarked at how cool looking some of it was, balked at the price, and walked out. Better-looking Bose. I've heard some of their uber-expensive stuff is relatively well-engineered; Andre Yew and AF ( lol ) can probably illuminate here.

Some their stuff does look pretty damn nice. "Better-looking Bose." Bwahahaah!

Yeah, they have a store on Newburry St. in Boston. The place I worked at bought a B&O TV for the lobby area. It was a nice TV, but fucking stupidly expensive.

We called a truce!

For B&O, if you have the scratch, the Beolab 5 speakers are very nice. If you like design and integration but also want audiophile pedigree, a complete Meridian system is the way to go.

You forced me to steal a smiley from another site to convey my feelings at that revelation, Andre.

Well designed but mediocre sound and great expense.

You can do much better for the money.

If you're not an audiophile, they've made some things that are of unparallelled beauty and originality. I wouldn't want to buy their new speakers that look like Daleks though.

If you're part of the styrofoam-cup brigade, though...

Don't knock it until you have tried it.

Actually they have a store in the Aventura Mall and the sales person was excellent, and I didn't purchase anything.

Jon.
