That's pretty cool. Darn those skinny kids and their high strength/weight ratio.

I used to do gymnastics in Canada and that isn't as hard as it looks. Try jumping from one even bar onto another while trying to catch it in mid air, while pulling your legs into the air, singing your whole body around...that's hard.

Bloody hell.

You should send that kid an email telling him he's a pussy.

He's not a pussy, it's not something that's easy to do for a regular person, especially the inverted flip, but for a gymnast it isn't the hardest thing to do. Honestly, anything that takes letting go and grabbing onto it again while spinning in midair is far harder to do (on the horse, parallel bars, etc...).

I could do that to if I were 55 pounds.

Are you so bloody daft that you missed the point of the clip?

He's a little kid doing something cool that 99% of the readers can't do and isn't that sweet. But you feel it necessary to point out the relative difficulty of his gymnastic accomplishment?

Start 'em young. That's how Olympic gymnasts are made. Kudos to the kid!

Did you read what I wrote...? Calling me names does nothing to reinforce whatever you are trying to prove.

You are impressed over nothing. It's not as if the rest of the other kids on the video couldn't do what he does, but again you have to look at it in the context of gymnasts (which I stated previously).

This contradicts what you said in the above quote. I am pointing out that it isn't that particularly difficult in the context of gymnastics. It's like being impressed if students at a conservatoire are good pianists.

I may be weak, but I could probably out-run him.

The Olympic Games are filled with hundreds of world-class athletes. One would expect that because they're at the Olympics, they would have a pretty high level of performance or skill. That hasn't yet stopped me from finding their performances impressive.

I'm not a gymnast, and I wasn't at this kid's age. So I find the ability he has developed at such a young age impressive. I'm also impressed that he's chosen to dedicate time to gymnastics instead of sitting in front of the TV, gorging himself on Cheetos, and becoming obese by age 9.

Perhaps it's my personal background, but all the kids I saw at that age at the gym were just as skilled as that kid was. Like I said, you have to look at it from a certain context. At the same time, the kid who is obese by 9 didn't do it by him / herself, the parents are clearly at fault.

^Right. My point was that I still applaud this kid even if there are tons of other kids who can do the same thing. If I saw them, I'd be impressed by them all. Nobody was saying that this one individual was better than all other gymnasts his age.
