Okey

here's the deal, I was set, I had a plan, I had a set of pots and pans that I was going to buy, and that was it, I was set on the pots and pans thing (think of Ed Norton in Fight club, being all set with the consumer choices he's made)

I was there on point on ebay, bidding, not too much, just enough, just enough for the Ciiiiiittttttaaaayyyyyyy

any I was like putting my toe in the water and bidding on All Clad copper core's

getting trashed at the last second by about $30-$50 bucks each time and feeling like the newbie that I am

then

THEN

you bastard I run across this site and BLAMMO everthing I though I knew about buying the last set of cookware I would ever buy went out the window

so tell me, is All Clad copper core the best? or when I went to the Sitram Catering website (thanks Spence!!) and found all the fancy smancy all clad copper core for about 1/3 of retail

so is the copper core at Sitram as good as All Clad Copper core?

Trust me I will sleep better at night if can buy the last set of cookware I ever own and my grandkids when they are fighting over this shit are like "jeez it sucks that grandpa isn't around to show us how to use this shite"

Don't buy a whole set unless you know what you're doing. A majority of people only need a couple of pieces to cook a majority of things.

All-Clad is good, but it's not difficult to find it on sale in stores and online (though I wouldn't buy them on ebay). Someone here once posted a link to a website where factory seconds are sold, but I'm too lazy to find it. And if you want something to hand down to your family, get cast iron cookware.

+1 The more you cook, the more you will know what you want and need for what you cook. A long time ago when I started cooking I found it helped me to cook with other people at their own places. This gives you a better understanding of what you like as far as pots/pans/knives/etc.
