i just got these AG "the protege" black cords. they're cut like jeans and look like they can dress up or down. i have no idea what kind of shoes to wear with them. i'm tempted to get some black sneakers but don't know which kind. i don't have a need for dress shoes and i'd like to get something nice but fairly casual. any suggestions?

Are you set on sneakers? Would boots work perhaps? AE tauntons can be got for reasonably cheap depending on your size. There are also a lot of moras on ebay, though they might be dressier than what you're looking for.

As sneakers go a lot of people will recommend Common Projects, but they're quite expensive.

i think i'd get more use out of sneakers, really. i've got some nice shoes that work for when i need to dress it up. i just really have no idea what to wear with black pants in a more casual setting. i'm not set on black, either, so i'm open to anything.
