what do you mean by the buckle needing to be fitted better? is it loose and needs to be repaired? would it be ok if i cut it all the way down to a size 30" belt? i guess additonal holes would have to be punched but is that possible? thanks.

It is not loose. When you cut down the belt you need to make 2 adjacent holes so the buckle can close. I was lazy and didnt make the holes exact so buckle doesnt close all the way.
There was 3 holes originally, I added 2 more. If you cut down further, it is from the opposite side so there would be no need to add more holes.
sorry about quality, phonecam pic

So you cut out the 'square' holes yourself?
