So is height completely determined by genetic makeup? i understand that nutrition and exercise are factors, but unless your completely sedentary or eat a crap diet it doesn't really affect your height all that much. is their any actual way to affect your height/growth?

Excluding genetics and nutrition... and assuming you aren't sick or being pressed between two boards... have you considered hgh?

If you're posture is ******, fixing it can add an inch maybe.

Only change that I am familiar with making has to do with posture... I've heard of people getting around an inch or so from dedicated yoga work... I imagine from correcting posture, straightening the spine etc...

I believe there is an operation to stretch limbs out. They break your bones, then pin them some distance apart, and new bone grown in the empty space. It is said to be very painful.

In conclusion, just stick to dating women that are shorter than you and it should be OK.

There are two problems with this approach: (1) once you get down to a certain height, there just aren't that many women that would qualify, and (2) shorter women tend to prefer even taller men.

I read that only Russian and Chinese surgeons perform this, mostly under the table as it's illegal.

It's done in the States too, as far as I know. I looked into it when I was 15 and realized I wouldn't be growing anymore. Of course, then I learned about the excruciating pain involved and decided that I'm actually okay being short.

Well beyond good nutrition and exercise you could also try to get plenty of sleep and be relatively stress free.

HGH can increase ultimate linear height if given early enough during the growing years. Once the epiphysis fuse, it is useless for that purpose. Basically, that means if you are already a few years into puberty, it won't work. The surgery a few people have mentioned is used in dwarfs that have normal body size, but short legs and arms. I don't think people who are simply short stature are candidates; you would end up with arms and legs that are disproportionate to your body. I also don't see how that kind of pain could be worth it for a few inches. Of coarse, I am 6'2".

Perhaps you should consider moving to an area with a large Asian population (assuming you don't presently). There are lots of guys around 5'2"-5'4" out here and many of the women don't make it to 5' tall. Suddenly you won't feel as short.

QFT. I'm 6'3", and my last 3 exes have been 5'2", 5', and 5'1", respectively.

Was HGH ever an option? I'm not sure how useful it would be.

Or what? You'll take a swing at us? We'll just put our hands on your foreheads and use our long arms to keep you away.
