Is it me, or are SNL sketches 95% not funny? - Page 3

I am willing to raise that percentage to 99.9% not funny. I've seen probably had to sit through 10-20 episode in the last 10 years and most I can sit deadpan throughout the entire show. Slapstick sketch humor where it is too forced I just find not funny.

I thought Timberlake was a great host, really funny. I got rid of my TV a couple fo years ago, but I was a big fan until I did. I agree with the OP that said it needs to be shortened, some of the last skits are just absurd, with people tired, breaking character all the time - remember Debbie Downer with Lindsey Lohan almost starting a food fight in the middle of it? I loved:
Matt Foley, the thrice divorced motivational speaker living in a van down by the river
Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer - we spent many late-night hours in the library in law school imitating him, and this was in 2006.
Ambiguously Gay Duo
Celeberity Jeopardy
Will Ferrell's turn as a drill sergeant where he kept intentionally hitting David Spade with the hat
Alec Baldwin as Pete Schweddy
Dana Carvey
Sprockets

I recall watching a lot of SNL during the spring of 1989. I was actually dating back then, and a lot of Saturday nights ended up on her parents' loveseat watching SNL. I don't recall hating it, but then again I didn't mind when all the programs had ended and the TV was showing nothing but snow after midnight. In other words, we weren't paying attention anyway.

YAY! Maybe the focus of the show now will be making it funny instead of embedding political messages.

Also the Dan Hartmen yrs and of course Chris Farley, HATED David Spade though.

+1 for
Cheri Oteri
Martin Short era
"Tales of Ribaldry"
the caucasoid woman who played Mr. T's wife in a skit, it was so funny T laughed thru it.

Now this was funny. The Hartman/Carvey/Lovitz era is definitely the show's best, in my book. Can't stand most of the stuff by Cheri Oteri, Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell.

Three lesser-known Alec Baldwin sketches that make me laugh:
The Mimic
The Sarcastic Clapping Family
Greenhilly

You're on the money regarding lovitz, et al.

two fairly recent standouts for me:

Dear Sister
Iran So Far

Caucasoid? Is "white" no longer PC or was it part of the skit? I loved Cheri Oteri, Martin Short was a little too wacked out for me.

The Lovers skit with Will Ferrell and Rachel Dratch as an oversexed hippie couple was so dumb, but never failed to make me laugh.
