I need a hat freshened up, pressed or blocked. The kind of thing that Worth & Worth used to do while you waited. Where can I get this done (while I wait) in NY? Thanks

Thanks. I think it was J&J where I went years ago to order a trilby, but they were not on Fifth at the time. How are their hats?

They have a great selection of borsalino fedora. You can check their website(www.jjhatcenter.com).

Jay Kos has offered to steam hats while you wait. If you need a serious hat cleaning, rennovation, and blocking, the masters are Peter and Irving. They're listed in the yellow pages. They're in a loft in the millinary district (or what's left of the district).

With all due respect to whomever recomended Peter & Irving, I beg to differ. A few years ago I had them clean a hat; it came back so stiff I thought it was an Army Helmet, rather than the fine rabbit felt I had left with them. You should avoid this establishment.
