Terrible first straight razor shave (Toronto) - Page 3

An old girlfriend gave me a straight shave from paul mole as a gift. It was fun, but, by law i believe, they aren't allowed to use a true st8. So, you're paying for a shave with a shavette.

started shaving with a st8 after that, and found i give myself a better shave.

One pass WTG, one XTG, a couple areas ATG.

I was thinking of this thread as I shaved this morning. Only one small cut that was dry before I left the house.

Laws vary state to state. But for the most part, you're right, barbers are not allowed to use a true straight razor due to health concerns (in case you get cut you don't want to be trading blood with someone else).

Most people who shave with a straight don't shave everyday. It's too close of a shave for the beard to grow back. I shave every other day, compared with an electric or a fusion/fusion power when I had to shave almost twice a day.
