Am I the only one who doesn't like Cordovan?! - Page 4

Don't like for most shoes, especially the dressier styles - OK for clunkier styles and boots.

I didn't read the whole thread because I am lazy, but I like them for simple shoes and boots were the creases make them look "rugged" or "rustic" not sure exactly how to describe the feeling. I wear them in the rain and snow. I needed to wear them today edit: I will say I have no high end cordovan shoes. And I am not sure how I would like having elegant cordovan shoes. I don't know how more expensive cordovan shoes age.

+1 My only shell shoes are Vass Budapesters, Alden Longwings, and C&J/Polo Chukkas.

I think that adds to the cordovan shell appeal imo

The good ones are built like tanks. Wear them as such.

I also prefer calf for dressier styles.

Ditto.

A big no to Shell and Longwings -- they don't look good.

I've posted pics of shoes on a few occasions, nothing lately though.

I gave away my only pair of shell a few years ago out of (at-the-time) boredom.
I now regret that decision.

I like both calf and cordovan shoes. As for cordovan suited to clunky shoes, here is a link to the photo of my dream shoes on the "Shoe Pictorial Index":

I have the Mackay in dark oak calf but brown shell would be some thing else. O Well one day....

Am I the only one who feels this way?
