I like Connemara, but have never had the Cask Strength. I typically dilute it to under 80pf anyway, so I've never really understood the appeal (other than, effectively, getting more than the apparent 750ml). I expect that the higher pf would allow a greater quantity of alcohol-soluble flavor components to be present, but I've never had one go cloudy on me (indicating that those components were coming out of solution). How do you take it?

Sorry -- haven't had a chance to try it yet as it's in boxes with the rest of the contents of my liquor cabinet since my kitchen, dining room and basement were all flooded over the weekend

I'll probably dig it out on Monday and have it with a little water.

I swear to god, this is Grey Goose. But just $55 for this huge bottle. You can also just see the 18 year old Macallan I got at CostCo too

That's a big bottle of vodka.

I swore I'd stay out of liquor stores this month but I ran out of Lillet Rouge so I had to force myself. So I restocked the Lillet and added a Les Charmes Chardonnay, an Auselse and a Spatlese that looked good/good deal, some Cassis lambics, and 750ml of Chimay Blue (one of the few beers I enjoy, monks rule).

Picked up a bottle of gasoline. I guess they relabeled it as "Ten High." It's actually not that bad.

DNW-- is that any good? I saw some Saturday and thought it might be good, but wanted some verification before I took the dive.

P.S. ---> Dude, a watch instead of bouncing ****? Come on now.

Yeah, it's good. It's a refreshing break from those foreign scotches and whiskeys. Slightly sweet with a bit of a kick. Smooth and a really nice warm finish. **** are taking a break, they've been bouncing for a long while.

Happy Birthday to Me....

And the insides:

I might hold onto this one for my 50th in 2021. Or maybe my 40th? It's a magnum so it should age a bit slower than a 750ml.

Yup, gonna need a friend or five. Whenever I do pop it, be sure there will be some great bread and cheese to start the bottle with and some fine cigars to finish it

Nice find though, no? The little presentation box rocks IMO

Excuse the pics, the bottles are so black and skinny, hard to get a good shot.

Haha...

One of my favorite ways to finish a meal is with a porto, a nice cigar, and some espresso or coffee on the side, with a glass of water. I can spend the whole night at a cafe with this combination.

I hope you've never actually been to Pelee Island -- it's unspeakably dull beyond the winery patio, and you wait for hours for the next ferry to arrive ...

Worse, if you stroll the beach you get besieged by sandflies

Oh, and the damn wines are ... http://bigidea.com/index.aspx

I just picked up a bottle of Bowmore single malt tonight. I don't pretend to know anything about scotch, but I'm starting to be able to get a taste for it vs. just choking it down. Having a glass now I notice a difference between this and the JW Red or Black that I typically buy, so I might have to experiment and try some others.
