I Just Bought a... (Wine, Spirit, or Beer) - Page 119

I just had a friend grab some bottles for me from Astor Wines in NY to allow me to make more drinks from the PDT book. I don't have them yet, but will report once I do.

I'm interested in your opinion of the Applejack. I have read that Laird's Apple Brandy Bottled in Bond is a better choice for cocktails that call for Applejack.

Thanks Huntsman. If I had been there I probably would have grabbed something other than the Applejack, but as it was a favour someone was doing for me I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The two I'm really excited about are the Bittermen's Commonwealth (I love my G&Ts) and the Bitter Truth sloe gin. The sloe gin is made with Hans Reisetbauer's blue gin, which I have heard rave reviews about. He is the guy in Austria who is making the best Eau de Vies in the world and started branching out a little over the last few years.

Forgot to make bookmarks... what is (are) your favorite Cognac(s) in the 20-30€ range? I'd like to try something different than Rémy Martain VSOP.

I need help.

I need to buy around 5 or 6 cases of a good drinking wine.

I prefer italian wines.

I need advice for White and Reds.

I also need the price to be under $15 for each bottle.

Buy local or online... need more details on what you like to drink or is this for a crowd/event? There's enormous range in reds especially but "red and white" is not near detailed enough.

I'm biased on Italian wines but at $15 a bottle you'll not be getting much or it will be far too young to drink anytime soon, IMO.

I really like Junipero... how do you feel about it with respect to other gins you prefer?

something like a Rosso di toscano for the red or even a zinfandel?
