What B1os said. Imo it's a nice selection. The various aromatic bitters are quite different and it's worth to get them all. The Celery Bitters have a nice and unique flavour, too. I already have the Orange Bitters in a 200 ml bottle and after about two years of fairly regular and gratuitious use about ten percent, the amount in the little bottle from the travel pack is gone. Although the travel kit is about double the price per volume compared to the regular bottles, I choose those to try them vor relativly little money and because I'm afraid the 200ml bottle will go stale/loose to much aroma before i use them up after my observation on the orange bitters. Sadly, the other variants, like the Xocolatl, are only available in 200ml.

And yes, I ordered everything from the same german(!) online store:

I like it. It has a vegetal nose similar to tequila and a nice sweet flavor with some hint of banana. The problem is that it's a "jack of all trades and master of none." There is no classic cocktail that requires white whiskey. It can substitute for rye in some cocktails (MS is CC's Roundstone Rye unaged), but a White Manhattan is not as good as a regular Manhattan. It can substitute for white rum in a pinch, but a daiquiri is not as good with white whiskey. I was unsuccessful in my attempt to replicate a Nor'easter I had made with MS, but I suspect that the drink would be better with white rum anyways. In sum, I'm not sure it's going to gain a place in my spirits rotation.

Follow up to last week's post... Results of the mint infused rum. It changed the colour of the rum a lot more than I had expected, and a little more brown than green than I would have liked. I was originally only going to leave it for 3-4 days, but ended up being busy and left it for a week.

I've heard of it and wondered if it was good. White rum is a hard nut to crack. I use El Dorado 3, but am always looking to improve.

I bought Banks to replace an almost-finished bottle of El Dorado 3. Banks is stronger-flavored and more complex than ED, as you would expect from a blended rum consisting of rums ranging in age from three to 12 years. It is also twice as expensive. Whether it's worth the extra cost is a matter of personal taste and opinion.

I usually use Zaya. Its cheap enough to mix with and delightful on its own.
