I Just Bought a... (Wine, Spirit, or Beer) - Page 97

Ordered yesterday night: Mount Gay Extra Old Rhum Barbancourt Reserve du Domaine Angostura 1824 Pampero Aniversario Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva Bacardi Reserva Superior Plan for tomorrow: buy new bar cupboard so all my booze fits in. Will take pics of my rum family as soon as the new stuff is here. Oh, and I've started to make my own MamaJuana.

Ok, here is my rum. Obviously my favorit spirit (excuse crappy mobile phone pics).

Left to right: Pyrat XO Reserve, Ron Zacapa 23, Brugal Siglo de Oro, Plantation Extra Old, Appleton Estate Extra, Mount Gay Extra Old, Ron Bermudez Aniversario, Barceló Imperial, Rhum Barbancourt 15 years, Angostura 1824, Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, Bacardi 8 years, Pampero Aniversario, Ron Zacapa X.O, Havana Club 7 years.
Not in the picture are the lesser ones like Barceló Añejo or Brugal Extra Viejo that I only use for cocktails.

If someone has more or different stuff he would recommend, shoot me a PM.

And was weak today when passing the liquor shelf, so a tiny little random damage done:

The only other rum I have not listed is El Dorado 15, which I very, very much like. Props to ama for convincing me to try it (and Zacapa).

El Dorado 12 and 15 are both pretty amazing and up there in quality with Zacapa 23.

Picked up the following at Bevmo (surprised they had the stuff and the cheapest in LA)
Eagle Rare 17
Pappy Van Winkle 15
El Dorado 5

What about Zaya? I enjoy it very much, but I'm not an expert.

^^^ I concur though it is almost impossible to find the Old Zaya any more, my personal stash has been trimmed to 3 bottles.

Just placed an order for more bison grass vodka.

Hey, when's the last time any of you finished off a bottle? I've noticed that I'm not exactly churning through a bunch of empties over here, and wondered if this was the norm, or if I'm just not keeping up my end of things.

It depends how many you have open and how often you entertain. I have a lot of bottles open at one time, but I have people over to help drink them often. I probably kill a bottle every two weeks, but the bottle has usually been open for a lot longer than that.

Less than a week for my bison grass vodka. It also depends, are we talking stuff I drink regularly or what?
