I guess we agree to disagree. And if you think I was at all being suggestive about your threads, I wasn't.

Cheers to this.

Ditto to responding to your own post to post one or two new items every 6 hours.

So there is no way to bump a thread? I mean, not everyone is looking on that very day a person lists. Would a bump every 5 days be acceptable as long as you're not having fake conversations? It sucks that people would probably abuse this but i think not allowing any bump but price drops is a bit rough. For example, i've sold a lot of things on superfuture in the past week but on different days. If someone hasn't been on sufu/styleforum for 2 days, they're probably not going to go 3-6 pages deep in the buy&sell forum and might miss something. I just sold 2 things to past 2 days from a simple bump. I undersatand that too many people would abuse this though so i guess there is no easy way around it.

Guys, we are pretty busy people, and apart from moderating the site, some of us are involved in generating content and adding value to the site. A lot of the stuff is done on the backend to make this place run more smoothly. The affiliate program is something a little more visible. I am sure that there are lots of things that could be improved. I don't think that instituting rules that we need to then enforce is the way to go about improving them. I do apologize that some the rules are rather strict, but when you start saying things like "you can bump, but only once every 5 days", the work becomes overly burdensome on us. The current system is not perfect. But it *is* fair to all.

Not sure if this is possible with vBulletin, but perhaps if you could give normal (or senior) members permission to sticky threads in the B/S forum only, with a set timer for the thread to unsticky after 24, 48, 72 hours, or whatever. If you increased the amount of threads seen on the first page, this would also help as you very well may have more stickied threads than the current page can display. Haven't really thought about this long, so if it's not possible or has a huge flaw in it please say so.

My experience is that the B&S forum work great like it is now.

I haven't had any problem to sell my stuff, and even got offers and made sales after the threads went dormant, thanks to the link on the signature.

This link on the signature also rewards a member who contributes or participate in the forum, and not only come here to sell some stuff.

I have been conducting my sales on a "only one thread per sale" method. I create a thread with all my stuff, and add to it the new items, price reductions, pictures etc.

I got some bumps from users asking for more info and measurements etc. I haven't really had the need to bump it.

Also I think the right use of the tags help a lot.

I simply subscribe to the B&S Forum. I never get first shot at anything that way but I also don't miss anything.
