The spot in Santa Monica is the Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel. Just a few blocks from the Promenade and offers spectacular views of the ocean. Get there at Sunset. Decor is modern/upscale. Plenty of beautiful people. Drinks are expensive.

that place kept me from starving when i was 21. it was a cheesy mexican restaurant that served free food at happy hour, so i'd eat a huge meal for the price of one beer. good times.

Bordello is great, we go there quite often. If the OP is in town this thur-sun, the Bordello on friday nite is western swing/rockabilly nite with The Lucky Stars and my best mates are opening up for them (called The Unholy 4.....they play traditional texas style rockabilly). The decor at Bordello is awesome, sound system is awesome, easy to park since it's in an industrial area....but kind of hard to find esp with all the construction in the area you have to circle around but it's still easy to access.

re: The Edison, you need to make a reservation to guarantee getting in. They let the punters in around midnite. Or you can go to the pirate themed bar just down the street called The Redwood
