Hah! Nice do-it-yourself job. I wouldn't have guessed you altered it from looking at the photo.

I like it. Simple, practical, looks nice. However, do you realize how ridiculously small it is? You'll probably be able to fit a binder, a textbook, and an ultraportable laptop at most. At $445 I hope the sale is at least 50% off...

well i am in high school haha, so a laptop isnt an essential, i just need some folders and such, there is another tumi one: http://www.tumi.com/backpacks_messen...?modelid=90168 its a little bigger but idk which one to choose....

Don't get that Tumi backpack. It looks weird.
I'm all for Tumi, in fact I carry a Tumi messenger daily, but the design on that is ridiculous. Quality to price ratio on Tumi products is very good, but get something that looks a little better.
How about something like this:

or maybe this:

The Canyon and Townhouse series all look pretty decent.

Have you considered a messenger bag? I personally much prefer their styles over backpacks, plus they are easier to get in and out of on the move.

Imo Tumi is alright for the price, but nothing special. If anything I would say it is slightly overpriced compared to equal quality items from other similar brands. Plus most of their items are very very bland.

^^

I'm thinking the blandness adds to the simplicity and overall look and design to Tumi bags...however I myself prefer something other than Tumi!

thank you!!!

Eek, that bag looks identical to the offerings you will see ominously displayed for sale on the pavements of tourist ghettos. Best avoided.

If you want something stylish, go for a messenger bag in full leather. Well chosen, they will go with pretty much anything you decide to wear. Those Tumi ones linked below look a step in the right direction.

Go on superfuture and ask where to get Le Mem backpacks

But seriously, if you want a regular backpack with no branding in different colors:
http://store.americanapparel.net/rsanc501.html No one is going to pretend it's amazing quality but they have their appeal.

I have the Tumi Canyon messenger bag and I really like it. Its just big enough for the essentials: my 12" iBook, power adapters for it and my phone, a book, passport wallet, sunglasses case and a few pens and odds and ends. The leather is gorgeous, soft and buttery, and the interior blue lining is very nice.

If you need to carry more than what I've described above, this is the wrong bag for you. I like it because I'm working on carrying less stuff around, and I've discovered that however much space I have, I usually end up filling it, so the small bag helps me stay "minimalist." If it doesn't fit in the bag, I must not need it that badly.
