I saw yoox was having a clearance sale, so I was looking at boots. I discovered these beauties: (yoox link )

I've never heard of the brand, but they look pretty cool. I can't tell if they are good year welted or not, and as usual yoox has almost no useful information. The yoox price was $198, but on clearance for only $98. I would assume the retail is around 300 - 400, but can't be sure.

I'm posting this to ask: Does ANYONE know ANYTHING about this brand as far as quality? I found almost no information on google, nor could I find a place that sold them other than yoox.

I also included a (useless) poll to see how much the SF community liked them.

I know that Saucemaster has a pair (not the chukkas) that he was wearing regularly in the WAYWN thread last fall.

From what I hear, the quality is nothing to get excited about but I think they look decent. Good buy at that price, in my opinion.

Oh, forgot to mention these also had free shipping included (not sure if it's all items or clearance items only though). Also the code yoox2008 worked for extra 10% off. So it actually came to a grand total of only $88, which isn't bad for almost any pair of chukkas, but I guess I'll see when they arrive.

Hopefully Sauce will grace this thread will his presence.

Edit: The free shipping is for leap day sale only, same with the clearance section. So after today (Feb 29) it'll be over.

I voted yes, given the price.
Onion, did you discover anything about Paul May sizing? There's a size 10 at Yoox I like but that won't work for me if they run large.

Nope. They have an apparent website, but it's just a bunch of links to the company who owns it and other enterprises of theirs, and nothing else. I also couldn't find any reviews or anything.

I will definitely post back when they arrive, but I believe the sale is 1 day only for leap day so I guess that doesn't help.

Yeah, I have a pair of Paul May laceups from Yoox that I like. I got them for around $90, I like the shape, the construction is decent but not amazing. For the price, it was definitely worth it. Those chukkas look nice.

As for the sizing, they seem pretty true-to-size to me, maybe even just a tad small (that may be because my shoes are narrow, though).

Well thanks onion, okay gambled on the size. Your code was a bug plus! I went with these for $70 Yoox Also took a pair of MOMA chukka thingies for $50. Same material and last apparently as a boot I was looking at for locally $300. Yeow! Well, I hope the Mays fit.

I have a pair of Paul May wingtips and they're really comfortable. From the look of them, they appear to be Goodyear-welted. They are not as well-made as C&J, etc. but they are definitely worth it for the price. The pair I have are made of a very soft calf leather that have a kind of crinkled, aged patina... I think you'll like them. They're good-looking shoes.

I just grabbed a pair of the same. Seems the code gives 10% plus free shipping.

One thing I noticed - I was going back and forth between the 10 and the 11, and they list the 10 as having euro size 43, and the 11 as euro 44. I went with the 11, as these seem to be low euro sizes as compared to the US sizes yoox has listed.
