Good heads-up on that. I'll be there at the Johnny Walker event Wednesday night.

Not a networking thing, but there is a free Earth Day concert on the Mall this Sunday with the Roots and Thievery Corporation. It shall be awesome.

I think SF member Brettchaotix said he was going to that... Toots and the Maytals are playing, too, IIRC. Unfortunately I'll be out of town.

Polo! If you want to go, PM me and I'll get you tickets. They are about $120 and there will be a best dressed contest (a little something the SF'ers can dig). This is a good networking event.

If you're a GU, AU, GWU alum there are discounts through your alumni groups. GU/AU alums can contact me for the password (they check on orders).

If you're an alum of another school, they might be competing, so check the site for more info: www.universityrow.org

I got invited to that for $100 including the bus ride and booze and food. Or $80 but you have to get a parking pass (not bad if your're going in a group). Dunno if I'll find enough people interested to warrant me dropping the loot.

Yeah, I think my ticket is around 105-110 (I'd want to drink heavily, so I'll take the bus) but none of my friends from school are going that I know of, so I'm iffy about it. I'm waiting to hear back from a few people before I make a decision. I don't usually pay for this stuff... the Ambassador's Cup is free and the swag bags are filled with Bvlgari, Gucci, Waterman Paris and Lucky Brand.

I'll know if I'm in by the end of the week.

Cool, let me know. I'm open to going, the girlfriend isn't, she's not a fan of Polo. I'm not really either, but the times I have gone I've had fun.

Something that I should mention, but aren't specific events, if you walk around Dirksen Senate Office Building (committee rooms) or Rayburn House Office Building around 5pm when Congress is in session, you'll usually find events that you can crash. Those are the most common places, but sometimes you'll find something in Russell SOB's main hall, that little house next to Hart SOB (when it's warm) or in Cannon HOB among others. Free drinks, free food and a chance to BS.

Since the thread has been slow...

What are you favorite networking spots/watering holes that you go to for happy hour?

Cap Hill bars on Penn Ave. tend to be my go-to's... The Pour House/Top of the Hill and Capitol Lounge being by favs. Great places to pick up women and have lobbyists pick up your tab; good drink specials too.
