Unfortunately I don't have the kind of time to send it back and wait for another. By the time the new one gets here I won't be able to get it tailored properly before the upcoming black tie event. But that's the risk you take when you buy online.
Can the length be tailored? As for overall too big, I dunno ... if I go a size smaller the jacket would pull pretty hard across the chest.
Are you sure that you're wearing the jacket properly? The pictures from the back suggest that the jacket is a size or two too large, however the front shots show that it's pulling. The jacket doesn't fit around the collar well at all, the sleeves are monstrously large, jacket for too long, shoulders too wide....it's far too large to be altered without MAJOR surgery.
Take measurements of the jacket and compare them to your other suits that fit, the MV tux could be mislabeled as a 38S
You should send it back and ask Jeff to possibly cross ship the new one, rather than wait to receive yours and then send a replacement. At the same time, letting your tailor know that you're in a bind and need a quick turnaround for the alterations would help too.
**I'm almost 100% sure the pocket is just sewn tightly shut. Careful removal of the stitching is all it takes. Don't do this if you're going to send it back!**
Matsuya, the fit looks good overall, some cleanup around the armpits of the back might help, otherwise it looks good.
