I posted this in the mens clothing forum and didnt have any luck. I'm hoping that some shoe experts here can assist in identifying who made these shoes. I won these on ebay last week and received them today:

Dont have a digicam with me (im at work). but inside on the side it shows:

02149 1631
240 9D

And inside the sole it says:

Made in England
Lefcourt
400 Madison Avenue, New York.

Dont know if that will help or not.

Thanks.

my guess is alden, or possible an old C&J?

There's is a similar sole in the Labels thread on the main board and they look very similar.

I think it's an old Crockett and Jones.

Can't make out the nail pattern, but the heel look similar to the C&J Benton

Inside marking: 240 = 240 last, I think? Similar to this pair I'm selling (scroll down to the 9th picture):

Hope that helps,

The way the numbering is written inside the shoe is exactly like the 9th pic in terms of the font and spacing. Most likely these are C&Js??

Enjoy the shoes even if you don't figure out the exact manufacture. Looks to be those old-time well-made shoes.

C&J used to use that medallion on Handgrades on the 330 last:

Not sure if it's a C&J exclusive medallion though.

Great score! There's nothing cooler than a nice pair of suede wing tips. Get some good shoe strings. Enjoy
