You are a bit late, and I doubt many here know what it is :-(

Yeah, I was wondering what had happened when I went past it -- there's some exterior damage as well.

There's another taxidermist on rue d'Aboukir, LK.

There's something poignant and yet slightly absurdist about this disaster. Apparently, the majority of the insect specimens were destroyed, which in thought, is rather sad--all those tiny, colorful entities charred and blackened.

Being killed and having a pin stuck through their thorax is perfectly fine, however.

Taxidermy has its own complex set of psychology associated with it.

What horrible news. My wife and I went there on a trip seven years ago, just before we were engaged. I'm a zoology nut and she finds taxidermy creepy, so we both have vivid memories. In fact, we have three of lesson de chose posters from Deyrolle in our home. Glad to hear it'll be rebuilt - I am planning to take my future kids there! It is a magical place. As close to Dr. Doolittle's house as one is likely to find anymore.

I'm sorry for your loss, Babar; but we'll always have her with us.

Deyrolle must be one of the most unique stores anywhere in the world. It is sad to hear about the fire. I hope they will be open again soon.
